Itinerary

This is the easiest trek in Nepal and has few uphill climbs of any significance. Trekking westwards there are many alternatives. A northern route presents a trek close to the mountains Manasalu (7945m.), Himalchuli, Baudha (6674m.) and a side trip to Bara Pokhari, a fine high altitude lake. The more direct southern route to Pokhara allows a visit to the ancient town of Gorkha with its large bazaar and fort. This route has the attraction of lower altitudes and avoids the extreme elevation gains/losses common to other treks in Nepal.

The views of the Himalaya are good on this trek, but you never actually gets into the high mountains. A lot of the interest and remoteness of this trek has vanished because the new road to Gorkha has totally changed the trading habits and culture of the region. Local people hardly ever walk this route now, so the facilities for food and accommodation have degenerated. A few westerners travel the southern routes, but many parts of the northern regions are booth remote and untrammelled by trekers.

Day 02		Kathmandu: 1/2 Day sightseeing to Monkeys Temple and trekking permit arrangements. O/N in Kathmandu.
Day 03	Kathmandu -Gorkha
Day 04	Gorkha - Chyapitar
Day 05	Chyapitar - Chepetar
Day 06	Chepetar - Phale Sangu
Day 07	Phale Sangu - Khundi
Day 08	Khundi - Baglung Pani
Day 09	Baglung Pani - Karphu Tar
Day 10	Karphu Tar - Rupa Tal ( Lake )
Day 11	Rupa Tal - Pokhara	People interested can do rock and peak climbing above 5000m. today.
Day 12	Pokhara	Today we start our descent to Linju Khola for our next camp.
Day 13	Trisuli River Rafting + Royal Chitwan National Park	Drive to Trisuli river for white water Rafting. This river is very popular as access to the Prithivi Highway makes "breaking off" the journey easy. Trisuli is also an ideal beginner's river. After rafting drive to Chitwan National Park upon arrival, lunch will be served, rooms assigned and there will be a short briefing on the program and our facilities.
	4:00 PM	Elephant-back safari: Guests will ride on an elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife, you will be able to see the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours.
	7:00 PM	Dinner in the central dining hall. After dinner: Slide presentation. One of our jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Royal Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome.
Day 14	Royal Chitwan National Park ( 5:30 AM)	Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee, then proceed on a Nature Walk. This encounter on foot with the environment will introduce the main features of eastern Chitwan, the Sal forest, open grassland and riverine jungle. Our guides will help you identify some species of birds, plants and other wildlife that you may encounter.
	8:30 AM	Breakfast
	9:30 AM	Elephant briefing programme: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stables.(For the brave ones there is even a crash course in riding and leading the elephants)
	1.00 PM	Lunch Remaining hours before the afternoon program: take a dip in the pool, or relax on your veranda. Hammocks and the library are at your disposal.
	4:00 PM	Canoeing :A traditional dug-out canoe takes you on a trip down the Rapti river to view aquatic birds and the animals of the river banks. Back to resort through the Jungle.
	7:00 PM	Tharu Stick dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances.
	8:00 PM	Dinner around the campfire.
Day 15	Royal Chitwan National Park - Kathmandu ( 5.30 AM )	Bird Watching (or another elephant ride) after early morning tea/coffee.
	8.00 AM	Breakfast
	9.00 AM	Luggage down and departure at 9.39 AM. to Kathmandu. The actual program for your stay, will be given to you on arrival at Resort camp. The activities are adjusted to the length of your stay, the season and weather conditions. Naturally, it may not always be possible to follow this schedule to the minute and the circumstances may force us to alter the program at short notice. On safari in the jungle you will be accompanied by expert naturalists who will advise on safety procedures and we request you to respect their judgement at all times. If you wish to stroll in the forest alone, a guide will have to accompany you for your safety.
Day 16		Kathmandu Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 17	Kathmandu-Nagarkot	Drive to Nagarkot via Bhaktpur sightseeing.
Day 18	Nagarkot-Dhulikhel	Drive to Dhulikhel.
Day 19	Dhulikhel-Kathmandu	Drive to Kathmandu via Patan sightseeing.
Day 20	Kathmandu	Drive to Bhaktapur, Patan and Kathmandu for your sightseeing tours. The Kathmandu Valley consists of three main cities of great historic and culture interest: Kathmandu, Lalitpur (Patan) and Bhaktapur. The valley covers an area of 218 sp. miles and is situated 1310m above sea level.
Day 21		Kathmandu Free day on your own in Kathmandu
Day 22		Departure After breakfast drive to airport fly to your onward destination
